10 Waterfront Wedding Venues in NYC and Long Island
River, harbour and beach venues on both sides of the city line, and how to plan a ceremony where the wind is part of the room.
Water does something to a wedding. Ceremonies feel calmer, cocktail hours run longer and every photograph has a horizon in it. It also changes the entertainment: outdoor ceremonies need sound built for wind, sunset dictates the timeline, and glass-walled reception rooms reflect sound in ways a ballroom doesn’t. These are the ten waterfront venues we play most as a wedding DJ and MC team, city first, then Long Island. The full list is on our venues page.
New York City
Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers is the largest waterfront venue in Manhattan, with the Hudson on three sides and room for weddings of any size. It is a production venue at heart; a designed stage and lighting make it feel intimate for 150 or electric for 500.
The River Café in Dumbo sits at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge with the skyline across the East River. It is the intimate dinner wedding: live piano, a curated set, and a small dance floor that fills late.
Celestine, a few doors along the Dumbo waterfront, is a restaurant buyout with the bridge in the windows, ideal for 60 to 100 guests who want the music woven through dinner. A saxophonist during the meal is the usual choice here.
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge gives you the same view from a hotel ballroom and rooftop, with rooms for guests upstairs and a team used to full production.
The Liberty Warehouse in Red Hook faces the Statue of Liberty from Pier 41. Two floors, harbour views from both, and one of our featured real weddings. It carries 300 guests comfortably.

Long Island
The Crescent Beach Club in Bayville is the beach wedding: vows on the sand, reception in the ballroom over the Sound. Beach ceremonies are where we are most careful with audio, wireless lapel mics on the officiant and couple, speakers set for the wind, and a backup plan for the weather.
Harbor Club at Prime in Huntington has a glass-walled reception room on the harbour. Sunset ceremonies are the draw, and glass rooms reflect sound, so we run a distributed speaker layout that keeps the volume even and the conversation possible.
The Chateau at Coindre Hall is a French chateau above Huntington Harbor with a boathouse on the water. Book the terrace for cocktails at sunset; it is the best light on the North Shore.

Planning a waterfront wedding
Time the ceremony to the light. Look up sunset for your date and work backwards: ceremony 60 to 90 minutes before, cocktails through golden hour, reception as the lights come on. Your DJ and photographer should both have that time in the timeline.
Outdoor sound is a separate system. A venue’s portable speaker is rarely enough on a beach or a pier. Ask your entertainment to include ceremony audio with wireless microphones as part of the package.
Light the water. After dark the view disappears unless something is lit. Uplighting on the terrace, the pergola or the boathouse keeps the setting in the photographs all night.
