Brooklyn weddings run the full range: a candle-lit dinner for sixty under the Brooklyn Bridge, a 300-guest party in a converted factory, a ceremony in a glass conservatory. We have been the DJ and MC team at every venue on this list, some of them dozens of times, so this guide is less about décor and more about the things you only learn from the booth: where the dance floor sits, how the room handles sound, and when you need to bring your own lighting. Dumbo and the waterfront

1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge is the polished option: a hotel ballroom with the bridge and the Manhattan skyline outside the windows, and a rooftop for cocktails. It is one of the few Brooklyn venues where a full live musician line-up feels natural alongside the DJ, and the in-house team is used to production. Guests can stay upstairs, which matters for out-of-town families.

26 Bridge is a restored industrial loft on the Vinegar Hill border: brick, timber, iron columns and a long open floor that takes 200 seated with room to dance. Hard surfaces mean sound bounces, so we run a tighter speaker layout here than in a ballroom, and uplighting on the brick transforms the room after dinner.

Celestine is a restaurant buyout right on the Dumbo waterfront with the bridge filling the windows. It suits intimate weddings of 60 to 100 where the music should feel like part of the dinner, so we lean on a sax or guitar during the meal and keep the DJ set for a smaller, later dance floor.

The River Café sits at the foot of the bridge and is the classic Brooklyn dinner wedding: piano, white tablecloths, the skyline across the water. Dance floors here are modest, so the set is curated rather than loud, and a live pianist or trio during dinner is the usual choice.

Williamsburg and Greenpoint

Weylin is the former Williamsburgh Savings Bank, with a frescoed 1875 dome that is the most photographed ceiling in Brooklyn. The main hall holds a large wedding, and the acoustics under the dome are lively, so we bring a custom DJ booth and stage that keeps the equipment out of the sightlines and the sound controlled. Marquee lettering and gobo lighting look spectacular against the marble.

Wythe Hotel has the Main Hall (exposed brick, timber, big windows) and a garden terrace for the ceremony or cocktails. It is a relaxed, design-led room that suits open-format sets: the crowd here dances to everything from Motown to house.

The William Vale is the rooftop-to-ballroom wedding: ceremony up top with the whole Manhattan skyline behind you, reception downstairs. Dobbin St is a minimalist factory loft near McCarren Park with a private rooftop. The white-box interior takes colour beautifully, which is why couples here usually book our lighting design to give the room its character after dark.

East Williamsburg and Bushwick

99 Scott is a design venue with a conservatory, courtyard and a large industrial hall. It is built for production: LED walls, big light shows and DJ-plus-live hybrid sets all fit, and it is a favourite for couples who want the reception to feel like a proper party.

Red Hook

The Liberty Warehouse is on Pier 41 with the Statue of Liberty directly outside. Two floors of ballroom with harbour views, and a long history with our team; one of our featured real weddings, Majestic Roses, was here. It handles 300 guests without feeling crowded.

Pioneer Works is a cathedral-scale former ironworks turned arts centre. The volume of the main hall is enormous, which is thrilling for a ceremony and demanding for sound: this is a venue where full production, with a properly designed PA and lighting rig, makes the difference between a room that feels alive and one that feels empty.

Brooklyn Heights and Prospect Heights

Center for Brooklyn History is the landmark Othmer Library: two storeys of carved oak bookshelves and a gallery. It is intimate, formal and unusual, and it suits a string quartet or jazz trio at the ceremony as much as a DJ later.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden gives you the Palm House and the Atrium: a glass conservatory for the reception and the gardens for photographs. Glass rooms are bright and reverberant, so we soften the sound with a distributed speaker layout, and uplighting through the palms at night is a signature look.

What to ask a Brooklyn venue before you book

Where does the DJ go? Loft venues often have one obvious spot for the booth that is nowhere near the dance floor. Ask, and ask whether the venue has house sound or expects your entertainment to bring everything.

Is there a sound limit or curfew? Rooftops and venues with residential neighbours often cap decibels after 10 or 11pm. Knowing this in advance changes how we build the last hour.

How much lighting is included? Most Brooklyn lofts include working lights and little else. Budget for uplighting or a light show if you want the room to change after dinner.
